Forever Jung - Play to your strenghts

In the last essay we started to look at some of the ways we can understand ourselves better. Organisations and individuals do well not by only understanding the differences between individuals, but also to capitalize on them. There are enormous benefits to be gained from our playing to our strengths and mitigating our weaknesses – that is if we know what they are. Imagine a career doing what you do best and also enjoying it. Imagine waking up motivated to go to work and being engaged in what you do.

Know Thyself - I.T. and Meyers Briggs

In conversations with Project Managers or even anybody in leadership positions, the message is clear: To be successful you need to be able to work with people. But what does this mean? People determine the success and failure of projects and organisations. How does one start to get an understanding of people and how to manage them? A good place is maybe oneself. The wording at the entrance of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi was “Know thy self”. For those visiting the Oracle at Delphi in order to understand the future, one had to understand oneself first.
